KSKYE the Label is Australia's first established fashion label to rebrand as philanthropic, ethical, fair-trade, eco-conscious and cruelty-free. Rebranding from high-end fashion footwear label, KeilanaSkye in 2014/2015; KSKYE the Label is a conscious, unisex and fashion forward boho-luxe accessories label.
During designer, Candy Maaka-Stoten's time behind KeilanaSkye; KeilanaSkye achieved some really amazing things that took her to LA and NYC. She even won a few awards, including the prestigious Qantas Spirit of Youth Award. However, during this time, Candy transitioned from vegetarian to vegan and she learned about how toxic leather is. Leather is listed twice in the world's Top Ten pollutants from factory farming and leather tanneries; plus the amount of cruelty attached to this product is horrendous.
So, Candy made the conscious decision to rebrand. She spent 2014 rebranding, which meant she had to forfeit sales for most of that year, so she could work towards the new direction - and finally in 2015, she relaunched with a bang!
